Method

1. Firstly, soak the Dal for 120 minutes
2. After soaking add some water to it and grind well in the mixture grinder
3. Make a hard batter of the ground material. Light batter absorbs more oil. Therefore it can be unhealthy.
4. Add some rice flour to make them crispy
5. Then, apply oil over a plastic sheet. Place the dough over that plastic sheet
6. Shape vadas in a round form by making a hole in the center.
7. Deep fry it from both sides until it becomes brown
8. Atlast, serve and enjoy with chutney

Urad Dal Chutney

This is another simple but tasty dish with Urad Dal as the main ingredient.

Ingredients

Urad Dal, 4-5 red chilies, 1 onion, a piece of tamarind, a clove of garlic, Asafetida, mustard, 1 tablespoon of oil, salt (for taste), curry leaves

Method

1. Firstly, add oil to a pan. Then, add the mixture of Dal, Red Chilies, tamarind, and asafetida to it. Saute it well
2. Then add chopped onion and garlic to the material and cook on a low flame until it becomes brown.
3. Keep roosted material cool for some time and add some salt to it.
4. Add water to this mixture and grind it well until it becomes a smooth paste. Don’t forget to add water in between to get consistency.
5. Then, Temper by adding mustard and curry leaves and mix it with chutney.
6. Finally, enjoy it with Idli, Dosa, Uttappa, and Urad vada
