In our shop, laddoos are more than sweets — they are small celebrations packed into round, hand-rolled morsels. Our ragi and dry fruit laddoos are a story of comfort, craft, and community. Made in small batches in Yaadhum’s tiny kitchen, these laddoos combine the strength of ragi, the natural sweetness of jaggery, and the richness of hand-picked dry fruits.
Ragi, or finger millet, is a grain that has sustained Tamil households for centuries. Known for its high calcium and fibre content, it keeps energy steady and digestion happy. We roast it gently to bring out its nutty aroma, then mix it with powdered jaggery — a natural sweetener that retains minerals, unlike refined sugar.
Into this base go chopped almonds, cashews, raisins, and sometimes dates — each lending their own texture and nutrition. We bind the mixture by hand, rolling it into smooth, palm-sized balls. There’s no refined flour, no white sugar, and no preservatives. Just ingredients your grandmother would nod approvingly at.
These laddoos are as much about nourishment as they are about indulgence. They’re perfect for school snack boxes, post-workout refuelling, or as a small dessert after meals. Because they’re made in small batches, the taste is fresh, and the texture is soft yet satisfyingly dense.
Every time we roll a batch, the kitchen fills with a warm, sweet aroma that makes it impossible to resist tasting one. That’s the charm of old-school sweets — they’re made not just to be eaten, but to be experienced.
By choosing our ragi and dry fruit laddoos, you’re treating yourself to something wholesome and rooted in tradition — proof that the sweetest things in life don’t need to be complicated.
